Deseret Land & Livestock - August 25, 2008

This will be our last report from DLL. We will finish up today and head home in the morning. This has been a wonderful Mission. We have enjoyed every day here. Sister Hawk and I will be coming back for the 2009 Trek season here at DLL. It has been good to see the 7000 young people that have come to Trek with us here. I enclose a few pictures. These people have become good friends and we will miss them in the days ahead. I hope you have enjoyed our E/ Mail and Blog.

DL&L - August 3, 2008

Yes, another week has come and gone. We rebuilt 15 Handcarts the last two week, along with our Trek duties. The weather has been hot the last couple of weeks. In the high 80's to low 90's in the day, but low 40's at night. Air Conditioning in the day, heater at night. The country has dried out and things are much browner now than just a month ago. We have 5 treks left, one this coming week and then 4 the week on the 13th. Both Sister Hawk and I are a little bit 'trunky'. First because we have lived in our 28 foot 5th Wheel trailer for the last 9 months, and second because our mission for this year is winding down. We have our seminar for 2009 on August 23, and after that we will have about one day's work and that will be it until next year. We will be home to Delta around August 27 or 28. It will be sad to say goodbye to our missionary friends and the people in the Evanston 6th Ward where we have attended church for the last three months. We all know that life go's on. I have learned great faith in the youth of Zion. What a wonderful experience this mission has been. This is a good place to spend the summer, I have taken many pictures of wildlife and I have shared some of them with you. I am enclosing several more pictures, but this time of Elder Jeffery Holland and Bishop McMullin. As I said before they visited our Trek abut three weeks ago. Sister Hawk and I are in one or two of the pictures.
