It's been a couple of weeks and I decided I better send a few things. On Monday May 24, it snowed about 8 inches again. We got up to a snow storm and it snowed until
about 11 am. I have attached pictures to prove my claim. Also, on Monday I pulled a trailer to Elberta to pick up two little trucks that we are trying out. They are 11 feet 8 inches
long. The steering wheel in on the right side. Today Wednesday, May 26, we rebuilt 5 Handcarts. We worked all day on the job, the Sisters helped us and we had a picnic at noon.
The weather here at Deseret Land & Livestock has been rainy, snowing, windy almost everyday for this entire month. We are hoping June will be better. Our Treks will start on
June 9. We have 28 Treks this year, 24 Stakes and 4 Wards. Sister Hawk and I divided all the treks up between the other four couples. Everyone has six Treks except Sister Hawk
and I we only have five.
Sister Hawk had shots in both her knees but it didn't help her. She is planning to have her left knee replaced as soon as we finish up here in late August. She is in pain most of the
time. She takes pain pills at night so she can sleep. I told her we could maybe go home after we train all the Missionaries, but she said no not until the Mission is over. I thought
she would say that.
We are training the new Missionaries on the ranch Trekking rules and the routes. All of these Missionaries have been at Martin's Cove so they understand the program. We are having
fun with this group. I am ready to turn things over to someone else after this year. This is our third year on this Mission and I think next summer I'll go fishing.

We got to DLL on April 23. The weather has been very bad, snow and rain everyday. We went to Martin's Cove for training on May 3, 4 & 5. It was enjoyable but we were glad to get back to DLL. Today we started getting the Handcarts out of the barn. We moved the Port A John's out last week. The new missionary couples are learning the routes; it takes a lot of time to learn all the different way to travel on the ranch. We have two small trucks that we need to pick up next week in Elberta and one large truck in Salt Lake City. Today we set up the shop equipment because we have five Handcarts that need rebuilt. We also have many wheels to replace.
I enclosed several pictures of the snow it snows 2 or 3 inches at a time and then melts by noon. We have only had two days with sun and it was cold even with the sun shining.
I also enclosed the pictures we took at our meeting in SLC on April 13. The people in the middle our Elder and Sister Bretzing our mission Pres. and his wife, the others are our new Missionaries. I also enclose a picture of Sister Hawk and myself.
Sister Hawk is having bad trouble with her knees. We are going to see the Doctor in Provo on Monday. We are hoping he can do something to help her. She needs knee replacement, but we need to be here to train the new Missionaries. I hope we can make it till September.
