DL&L - July 26, 2008

Well here we are another week completed. This week we only had one Trek, so we rebuilt 9 Handcarts. We have a shop set up and by using a production line we are able to rebuild 3 handcarts each day. We have 11 more carts to do before we go home in a month. Sister Hawk and are are still enjoying our mission. We work every day except Sunday and sometimes we have P- Day on Tuesday. Our annual siminar for the 2009 treks will be held on August 23, 08. We will explain all the rules and other info. I think we will have 34 Treks next year.

DL&L - July 19, 2008

Well another week, another Trek completed. We had South Jordan 7th Ward this week. They came on Wednesday morning about 10 AM.The first night they went about 11 or 12 miles. The big surprise was Jeffery R. Holland and Bishop McMullin came and talked to the kids. Sister Holland also gave a little talk. Sister Hawk and I knew about the visit but we were told not to say anything to the Trek people. It was exciting to have them here on the ranch. We enjoyed them very much. The second day we Trekked 6 more miles, and they camped in that spot for two days. This morning we walked them out another 7 miles. We enjoy our small part in their Trek. The spirit is very strong here.

On Wednesday and Thursday we poured 9 yards of concrete each morning about 6 AM. It wasn't hard because Elder Sherwood knew how to make it easy. This next week we will be rebuilding handcarts and other repairs. This Sunday we are having visitors from Farmland Reserve.

Only one Trek next week due to 24th of July in Utah.

DL&L - July 13, 2008

Just a quick note to show some pictures taken here at DL&L. Dusty and Marilyn visited us here last night. We showed them around our trek areas and at the dairy barn we came across two moose. I didn't have my camera so Dusty got some pictures of them. These are the first moose anyone has seen this year, so the other missionaries were excited to see them. We continue to gave a wonderful time here. Sister Hawk and I gave talks in Church this morning.

DL&L - July 12, 2008

Another week almost completed, This has been one amazioning week for us. Our Trek this week was Salt Lake Pioneer Stake. These kids are intercity kids. They have been our best group so far. This groups is made up of all nationalities, from many different countries, all brothers & sisters in the gospel of Jesus Christ. How different these kids have been, they don't have much in the way of material goods, but these kids are strong. The route we took them on was Lost Creek to Fox Hollow about 22 miles of very hard travel. I enclose pictures of these people coming up one very tough climb. The first night we stops after 10 miles of the hardest climbs on the ranch. I told them only one more hill, but there was many more. The way I look at life is like this Trek, if we knew all our future then why go on, the great part of life is the struggle, to be tested, to see if we are strong and able to do hard things.

I love these kids and there leaders just because they worked so hard, they were so strong.

God Bless All

PS: 27 Picture this week, but to me they are must see.
